About

I'm an American-born, Berlin-based journalist writing about culture, social issues and business with a focus on Germany and Europe. My work appears in the Los Angeles Times, WWD, and Spiegel Online, and is broadcast by NPR, Monocle24, PRI's The World, the BBC, Deutsche Welle, and Radio Netherlands Worldwide. I also produce the monthly Dead Ladies Show Podcast, and previously made a monthly podcast for the Berlin Policy Journal. I hold an MA from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, and spent 10 years at NPR headquarters in Washington as a producer, editor, and reporter. In 2001, I was selected a RIAS Berlin Kommission fellow, and received a Bosch Foundation Fellowship for 2005-2006. My radio stories earned a RIAS Award in 2009 for reporting on Germany. I also edit, translate, and offer creative and editorial direction for audio, fashion, and literary projects, and lecture and consult on podcasting.
